Meet Monica
Dental Consultant & Owner of Blossom Dental Consulting
My goal is to challenge myself using a growth mindset, connect with people, share ideas, and learn new strategies for improvement. I believe that helping others excel is my way of experiencing success.
-
Monica has been part of the dental industry for more than 20 years. She began her education in the United States, earning an Associate's Degree in International (General) Studies from BYU–Idaho (formerly Ricks College) and studying abroad in Europe through Bellevue University.
After returning to British Columbia, Monica completed BCIT's Dental Administration Program at its downtown Vancouver campus in 2000. Her passion for dental administration led her to volunteer as a Teaching Assistant the following semester, where she helped fellow students develop their skills in dental office administration. This early experience inspired her lifelong commitment to mentoring and supporting dental professionals.
-
Monica's professional goal is to create a supportive community where dental office administrators and practice managers feel represented, valued, and empowered.
She is passionate about providing opportunities for continuing education, professional development, and practical resources that help administrative teams grow in their careers and contribute to the success of their dental practices.
Monica believes that when dental office administrators receive the training, support, and resources they need, they can strengthen the business side of a practice and help reduce many of the daily challenges and stresses dentists face. By building confident, capable administrative teams, dentists can spend more time focusing on what they do best: providing exceptional care for their patients.
This belief inspired Monica to launch an Office Manager Study Club in January 2021. As the community grew and its vision expanded to support leaders across the dental profession, it evolved into the Dental Practice Leadership Study Club. Today, the study club provides a collaborative environment where dental office managers, administrators, and practice leaders can connect, share ideas, continue learning, and support one another as they grow their leadership skills and strengthen their practices.
-
With more than 20 years in the dental industry, Monica has worked in both general and specialty dental practices, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the day-to-day challenges dental teams face.
Throughout her career, she has built strong relationships with dentists, specialists, and administrative professionals while gaining firsthand insight into what makes a dental practice successful. Monica has found that many workplace challenges stem from communication breakdowns, unclear systems, and inconsistent workflows.
Her approach focuses on improving communication, building trust, strengthening teamwork, and creating efficient systems that support continuous improvement. By helping dental practices develop functional workflows and collaborative teams, Monica empowers offices to operate more efficiently and create a positive workplace culture.
Ultimately, Monica's goal is to build dental teams that support one another, take pride in excellence, and work together to deliver an outstanding experience for both patients and the entire practice.
-
Monica believes that lifelong learning and professional development are essential to building successful dental practices. She has volunteered as a Speaker Host for the Pacific Dental Conference in Vancouver, where she has supported one of Canada's leading dental education events while connecting with dental professionals from across the industry.
She is a member in good standing of the Dental Office Managers Association of Canada and the American Academy of Dental Office Management, reflecting her ongoing commitment to excellence in dental practice management and leadership.
Monica also serves as Vice President of Membership for her local Toastmasters International (District 21) club, where she continues to develop her communication, public speaking, and leadership skills.
Beyond the dental profession, Monica is actively involved with WeBC (formerly Women's Enterprise Centre), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, empowering, and celebrating women entrepreneurs across British Columbia. Through WeBC's mentoring program, she both shares her experience with fellow business owners and continues learning from other inspiring women leaders.
She is also a lifetime member of the Worldwide Women's Association, an organization committed to advancing women's professional development and leadership around the world.
-
When she's not working with dental professionals, Monica enjoys staying active at the fitness studio, attending concerts, shopping for the perfect pair of shoes, sharing a great glass of wine with friends, and discovering new ideas through non-fiction books and podcasts.
Monica grew up in Vancouver and completed part of her education in the United States before returning home to British Columbia. Today, she lives in the suburbs of Vancouver, where she continues to be connected to the dental community she is passionate about supporting. No matter where life has taken her, the West Coast will always be home.

— Dr. Sheena Sood, Ironwood Dental CentreAs Featured in Women's Journal: Helping Dental Practices Thrive Through Stronger Leadership & Systems
I'm honoured to be featured in Women's Journal, where I share the story behind Blossom Dental Consulting and the mission that has guided my work since 2019.
As a dental practice management consultant, I believe that exceptional patient care starts with a well-supported team. While dentists dedicate years to mastering their clinical skills, the day-to-day success of a practice also depends on strong leadership, clear communication, efficient systems, and a positive workplace culture.
The feature highlights how Blossom Dental Consulting helps dental practice owners across Canada and the United States build stronger, more efficient practices through strategic consulting, leadership coaching, and practical solutions tailored to each team's unique needs.
Being recognized by Women's Journal is a meaningful milestone, but what matters most is the opportunity to continue helping practice owners reduce stress, strengthen their teams, and get back to focusing on the patients and profession they love.
