The Aligned Office: A Leadership Conversation on Pain, Stress, and Retention in Dentistry (April 30, 2027 - Live/Recording)
The physical and mental demands of dental work affect every role in a practice. From chronic back and neck pain to the stress of a packed schedule, these challenges can build over time, contributing to burnout, reduced hours, and the loss of experienced team members.
For practice leaders, supporting team well-being is about more than encouraging people to take breaks or manage stress. It means understanding the demands of each role, recognizing where strain is building, and creating a work environment where people can do their jobs well without sacrificing their health.
Join us as Caitlin Parsons, Registered Dental Hygienist, Certified Yoga Therapist, and Ergonomic Educator, leads The Aligned Office: A Leadership Conversation on Pain, Stress, and Retention in Dentistry. Drawing on 18 years of experience in dentistry and firsthand knowledge of roles across the practice, Caitlin will explore practical, realistic ways for office managers and practice leaders to support their teams, reduce strain, and build a healthier, more sustainable workplace.
Topics Include:
Recognizing the demands of each role: Understanding the physical and mental challenges dental hygienists, assistants, treatment coordinators, and front office teams face every day.
Addressing physical strain: Identifying how positioning, ergonomics, and daily clinical routines can contribute to pain and discomfort.
Understanding workplace stress: Recognizing how scheduling pressures, workload, and competing responsibilities affect team well-being.
Preventing burnout: Identifying signs of accumulating stress and taking action before team members reach their breaking point.
Connecting well-being with retention: Exploring how supporting team health can help experienced professionals remain engaged and continue working in dentistry.
Taking practical steps as a leader: Discovering realistic ways to support team members and create a healthier, more sustainable practice environment.
The Takeaway
Participants will leave with a better understanding of the physical and mental demands their teams face, practical ways to recognize where support is needed, and actionable ideas for creating a workplace where people can stay healthy, engaged, and confident in their roles.
This recording is for: Dental Office Managers, Practice Owners, Dentists, Practice Leaders, and team members responsible for staff well-being, workplace culture, and employee retention.
